The Blessing in Giving
Scripture: *Luke 6:38* – “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken
together and running over, will be poured into your lap.”
Generosity is a principle close to God’s heart. Giving not only blesses others but opens us up to
receive God’s abundant provision. When we give freely—whether our time, resources, or
love—we reflect God’s own nature, who gave His only Son for us (John 3:16). The beauty of
giving is that it’s a channel for God to work miracles, both in the lives of others and in our own.
The widow of Zarephath gave Elijah her last meal, and God’s provision sustained her through the
famine (1 Kings 17). True giving doesn’t deplete; it multiplies, overflowing back to us in ways we
may not even expect.
Reflection: Are you holding back in areas where God is calling you to give? Trust that as you give,
He will meet your every need.
Prayer Focus: Ask God to cultivate a generous heart within you, that you may give freely and
joyfully. Pray for the wisdom to discern where and how to give, and for a spirit of trust that God
will always provide for your needs.
